PumpsThe pump is the heart of the fountain or pond. Fountain pumps generally pump a small amount of water up to a height that is not very great while a pond pump must circulate a large amount of water to keep the ecosystem of the pond healthy. Many of the larger pond pumps are even capable of running substantial waterfalls. Most fountain and pond pumps are submersible. That means that they may be operated completely underwater. There are three major advantages to this. One is that they are thermally insulated by the water itself thus avoiding the need for an internal cooling system. They are likewise sound insulated by the water making them less noticeable. The third advantage is that because it is underwater, there is never a need to prime the pump. More Info... |
